Feasibility Study Shipping Centre Vienna


The existing shipping center at the Reichsbrücke is going to be developed into a more attractive area according to its importance as a touristic portal to the city.
Considering the expected increase of visitors and the planned urban developments and improvements of accessibility in the surroundings (area of the Nordbahnhof, S45, pedestrian bridge) several variants of solutions regarding the optimation of traffic organisation as well as the spatial configuraten of usages were elaborated.

PIER - Positioning of Neusiedl am See as Public Transport Friendly Community via Installation of a Innovative Multimodal Mobility Hub


Within the framework of the umbrella project "Environmentally sustainable transport and tourism in sensitive areas, using the Lake Neusiedl - Fertö-Tó region as an example"in Neusiedl am See the Project PIER was set up, with the overall goal to implement a evironmental friendly multimodal public transport hub. Basing on a mobility and operational concept, which proposed a solution to connect the railway station „Bad Neusiedl am See“ and the nearby bus stops with the important destinations of the City (historic center, lake) for cyclists and pedestrians, a masterplan for the development of an urban harbour with a connection to the Neusiedler See was elaborated. In detail the areas concerned were analysed as regards real and legal aspects as well as two system models for the urban harbor were elaborated. In the masterplan the planned usages including quantification are drawn and described. The city harbor Neusiedl am See is supposed to house a watershuttle station, a yachtclub, a service center for sailing and water sports as well as a information and experience center "nature-water-cultural heritage". Furthermor, the current situation of the city bus and collective taxi on call ne'mo was evaluated and recommendations for potential adaptations were elaborated.

Direction of land for construction, 2007/06-2008/06, rc535

Pre-Feasibility Study and Conceptual Design of the New Cargo Port in Belgrade


Within this project a location for the new cargo port in Belgrade was found. Basing on this a pre-feasibility study was made, the design of the port was prepared and accompanying studies were elaborated.
The project is implemented by a consortium EHTING / TINA Vienna; RC provides experts for TINA.

IVAN - Development of an Innovative Public Transport System with Initiation of a Collective Taxi in Neusiedl


The pilot project IVAN Neusiedl is an implementation project of the cross border umbrella project MOSETO (for further information go to www.sensiblegebiete.at). IVANs objective is the planning and implementation of an innovative new public transport system in Neusiedl and especially the adaptation of public transport to the needs of the inhabitants and visitors. The consortium consists of Regional Consulting ZT GmbH, Snizek + Partner OEG and Bichler & Kolbe ZT GmbH who are in charge of the project.

Austrian Conference for Spatial Planning (ÖROK), 2003/10-2004/03, rc426

PROFAN - Preventativ Spatial Planning against Damage of Natural Disasters


Main objective of PROFAN was to develop possible solutions for the reduction of natural damage caused by natural hazards in settlements. Regional Consulting analysed Austrian spatial planning laws and showed possibilities for the spatial planning authorities.

Eisenbahn Hochleistungsstrecken AG, 2002/11-2003/03, rc392

Cost-benefit Analysis of the Railway Station "Bleiburg" along the Railway Line "Koralmbahn"


The planning ideas proposed a reduction of stations and city-links along the so called "Koralmbahn"-railway line. To access the region a new road bridge and a new railway station outside the city center were planned. This concept had to be evaluated with regard to transportation, spatial and environment-related effects as well as financial consequences. To cope with this task an extensive and substantial cost-benefit analysis was elaborated.

Analysis of Transport Corridors in Southern Austria - Slovenia


The analysis of transport corridors, covering all transport means, concluded in recommendations for the formation of the transport network in the border region of Styria - Carinthia - Slovenia. The future demand of rail and road transport were deduced from the expected respectively desired spatial, economic and transport oriented development. Considering environmental aspects, co-ordinated, prioritized upgrading concepts were elaborated.

Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) of the Federal Road B301


The Masterplan for new planned section of the Federal Road B301 between the areas of Voesendorf and Schwechat south of Vienna, was subject to an Environmental Impact Assessment in 1997. The current Austrian Environmental Assessment Law required any environmental assessment to be examined and verified by an independent team of expert auditors. Regional Consulting took over the role of the independent auditor for the spatial planning aspects of the EIA.

Vienna North-East-Bypass


In the future Vienna is to be by-passed in the East by a new motorway to divert traffic from the city and to create new development opportunities. Regional Consulting was commissioned to select the most suitable corridor for the road and analysed its effects on urban development and the transportation system. To come to results ready for implementation a technical feasibility studies were prepared for each proposed route.

GSD - Design of the Road Network in the Danube Region with Special Reference to Austrian's Role as a Business Location


Austrian's road links with the neighbouring regional economies to the North and East are inadequate. Based on transport, economic and spatial related measures the optimal routes for links with the key European regional economies from an Austrian point of view were mapped. The process included the relevant persons responsible for transport matters in Austria.

Location Decision for an Additional Motorway Service Area on the A2 Motorway in Carinthia


Regional Consulting studied the suitability of two alternative locations for an additional motorway service area on the A2 motorway. The purpose of the study was to analyse the economic efficiency and the location qualitiy for the two submitted projects Techelsberg and Wernberg.

Pre-Investment Study for Bucharest Urban Transport - with CIE


The study worked out general strategies for urban transport after the transition to a market oriented economy. The main objectives were to define options for passenger transport, to identify short term investments and actions to overcome the most urgent problems and to prepare pre-investment studies to allow the relevant authorities to seek financing from international financing institutions.
