International
project management
Our services in international project management comprise the design and implementation of cross border projects which mostly deal with regional or location development as well as urban technolo-gies. The projects are developed according to the overall objectives, partners are found and the pro-jects are submitted in the respective funding programs. Later on we are in charge of the organization and administration during the implementation of the project.

| Support for the Elaboration of Operational Programmes for Territorial Cooperation (AT-CZ, AT-SK) |
|
Within multilateral communication processes with the involved regions operational programms for territorial cooperation (objective 3) with the Czech Republic as well as the Slovak Republic were elaborated. Relevant contents were a SWOT analysis, a formulation of priorities for the future cross-border cooperation, a description of cooperation structures, a financial and an implementation plan. Contrary to former OPs the level of measures was not dealt with.

| CONSPACE Stakeholder and Local Government Forum (part of the CONSPACE project) |
|
At the CONSPACE stakeholder and local government forum about 35 stakeholders from Styria, Carinthia, South Trans-danubia (HU), Croatia, Slovenia, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Veneto discussed on findings, proposals and recommendation for the regional development of their region. Regional Consulting organised, moderated and implemented the conference.

| VCDC - NORRA New Urban Development North of Red River Area in Hanoi, Vietnam; Preliminary Study |
|
Based on a Memorandum of Understanding in the topic of urban development between the cities Vienna and Hanoi, the Vienna City Development Consortium VCDC was initiated. The aim of this project was to jointly develop a concrete project and to elaborate the necessary documents for the further project preparation. Additionally the preparatory work for the formal co-operation as well as a NORRA Seminar in Hanoi were implemented. It is planned to continue the co-operation organised in a syndicate and a corporation.

| INTERREG-Hungary Technical Assistance for the INTERREG Programme and Project Development |
This project aimed at the preparation and facilitation of the successful launch and implementation of future INTERREG programmes in Hungary. Part of project work were the preparation of the potential intermediaries, beneficiaries for the successful participation in INTERREG programmes in the form of trainings and the preparation of a manual, the provision of general information and preparation of a wider range of potential beneficiaries for future INTERREG programmes in the form of open seminars and an information booklet in order to support the beneficiaries to meet the criteria set by the European Commission. Thes work was done in co-operation with LRDP London, the Austrian Institute for spatial planning, Central European University Consulting and K & H Euroconsulting.

| UTN II - Urban Technology Network II |
|
UTN II was the follow-up of UTN. The central objective of UTN II was to strengthen the existing network between European cities to improve and upgrade the development of urban technologies in Central and South-eastern Europe. Within a clear and transparent selection and decision making procedure a large number of pilot co-operation projects was developed to bankable resp. fundable (investment) projects.

| STEESON - Urban and Regional Development Cooperation Eisenstadt - Sopron

The urban and regional development cooperation Eisenstadt-Sopron including the villages Großhöflein, Klingenbach, Müllendorf, Siegendorf and Wulkaprodersdorf aimed at fostering and strengthening the ongoing bilateral activities in this region towards an agglomeration area in a sustainable way. Overall goal was the creation of an economically strong and for the residents attractive common living-, economy- and nature area with the twin-location Eisenstadt-Sorpron in its core.

| MAREMA - Best Practice in Managing Regional Managements |
|
13 partners different regions in Austria, Italy, Germany, Slovenia, Ireland, Lithuania, Sweden and Norway (INTERREG III C Zones NORTH, EAST, SOUTH, WEST, accession countries and third countries) cooperated within MAREMA network to elaborate best practice in Regional Management. On regional level partners elaborated custom made results according to their individual regional questions. On transnational level a transnational synthesis in form of a methodological handbook with reference to examples from the partner regions was compiled. The thematic guidance occurs in cooperation with eb&p, Umweltbüro Klagenfurt.

| TECNOMAN perspectives - TEN and Corridor Nodes Position Management Network II |
|
In the continuation of the INTERREG IIC project TECNOMAN 18 partners from different regions in Austria, Germany, Greece, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Romania and Yugoslavia elaborated strategies for future- and demand-oriented business location development that react to the socio-economic changes and the EU enlargement. On regional level the regions came up with solutions to meet the individual regional problems. On transnational level a synthesis on of the results was compiled. In the framework of these transnational activities a handbook of strategic demand-oriented business location development policies in CADSES node regions was established. Regional Consulting was responsible for project management as well as supervision as regards content on transnational level, and furthermore supported several regions in handling their regional problems.

| CONSPACE - Common Strategy Network for Spatial Development and Implementation |
|
The central objective of CONSPACE was to elaborate a common transnational regional development strategy for the CONSPACE region (Carinthia, Styria, Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Guilia, Slovenia, South Trans Danubia, Istria and Primorje-Gorski Kotar). The ten project partners implemented different pilot actions to enhance the cohesion of planning tools and procedures, to develop balanced polycentric spatial structures, to maintain the cultural and natural heritage and to integrate measures to upgrade regional transport networks. In cooperation with the governments of Carinthia and Styria Regional Consulting developed CONSPACE project. RC also was project manager for all international management tasks which comprised e.g. project planning, transnational workshops and reporting to the EU.

| Hanoi towards the Future |
The project aimed to design and facilitate sustainable co-operation procedures between the public and the private sector for the implementation of urban development of Hanoi guided by institutions under HPC administration. This required participatory action plan procedures, in particular three action plans were developed for the city of Hanoi: Urban Industrial Park Development, Central Commercial Area Development, Re-introduction of a Light Rail System Technology. The process was complemented by a training and study tour programme for local experts.

JORDES+ - Joint Regional Development Strategy for the Vienna-Bratislava-Györ Region |
|
Project objective was the development of the regional development strategy for the Vienna-Bratislava-Györ Region in a three year process. The strategy was elaborated in cooperation with representatives from the regional administrations in Austria, Slovakia and Hungary. The activities focused on the creation and coordination of efficient and feasible development measures.

| CUTSCO - Creation of an Urban Technology Service Centre in Odessa (Ukraine) |
|
Regional Consulting was commissioned to establish a centre for urban technology development in Odessa. The centre is an independent non profit orgainsation that develops and implements urban development and technology projects in Odessa. The centre is self-financing, actively and successfully operating in Odessa beyond the completion of the project.

| VITECC - Vienna Tele Co-operation Centre / VITECC II - Follow-up Project / VITECC Accession |
|
The main objective of this INTERREG IIA project was the intensification of the co-operation process in the border regions of Hungary (Györ), Czech Republic (Brno), Slovak Republic (Bratislava) and Austria (Vienna). For that purpose four offices were established to be in permanent contact with each other, either via internet and in person. Working groups were generating specific projects to achieve a continuous know-how transfer between the regions.

| TECNOMAN - TEN and Corridor Nodes Position Management Network |
|
TECNOMAN network facilitated the exchange of information and also the co-ordination of policies and projects regarding the development of nodes in TEN and Corridor areas - between Austria and Greece. The project involved several partners from Austria, Greece and CEEC. It targeted the development of a common strategy of spatial development among central and peripheral regions among EU and non EU regions.

| UTN - Urban Technology Network |
|
UTN was a trans-European city co-operation project. It was embraced by the European Union's INTERREG IIC CADSES pogramme, which targeted to initiate co-operation in the field of spatial development in the Central, Adriatic, Danubian and South-Eastern European Space (CADSES). The UTN network facilitated the exchange of knowledge and the implementation of co-operation projects in the field of urban technology. The project was implemented by several partners coming from Austria, Greece and CEEC. It aimed at improving the general conditions for urban technology development in the networking cities.
